16 year old boy driving wifes car "help"
Hey guys thanks for taking the time to read this. Im hoping all you guys that read this post will respond with your feelings.
Today I get a call from my wife and she tells me something is wrong with her car! Then I find out she let her sisters son 16/17
use the car 2004 Audi TT. She droups off the car, its fine and the next morning the son comes driving up to his house and its knocking like crazy...
So with that I want to hear what all you might have to say about
what you think caused it....
1. I dont have to say you never let a kid loose with a car like that.
2. We all know when we first got into what ever car!!!! It was race time. Foolish things happen when your 16/17...

Im an ASC tec but have not worked in the business for better than 20 years but my feeling is the motor was over reved!
We dont know yet but I think we wil find floated valves pistons
dents rod bearing problems?
Engine was running good, its full of oil, and coolant...
am I just a fool or is this a kid related thing????

Really unfortunate. won't be cheap. I dropped a valve in mine at a track event last March and it was nearly terminal for the car. Spentover half the value of the car for installatiion of a replacement engine from a salvage company. This was obviously too tempting a situation for a 16 year old. Heck I am 57 and killed the engine in mine. At least I was the one paying for the repairs.
