head lights dim

alt has good output - 13.2 - but headlights dim @ idle
good battery
1990 audi 90 aah eng
do these cars have a ground issue ?

hey ROY,ck the grounds at the headlights,see if they r clean,

If your alt was strong you would be getting closer to 14amp, I have intermittent charging system problems even after putting in a new alt. I would suggest a grounding kit im putting one on mine right away, also due to the location of your alt any oil leaks on that side of the engine seem to always dip down onto the heat shield then onto the alt, if you have any oil leaking thats getting on to your alt, I would suggest spraying down your alt with some brake cleaner, if your alt is running a little weak cause of oil getting in there that should bring it back up to 14amp ( temporary) and your lights should start working better. If you do have a leak fix it asap it will eventually kill your alt
