Default PS Pump Wanted and PS Pumps For Sale

First, I am looking for a power steering pump. I need one for a 1991 Audi 90 Quattro 20V. The serial number for the pump I need is 054 145 165. PM me if you have it and would like to sell! Let me know what you're thinking in terms of price.

I have two ZF Power steering pumps for sale. One is for the early '90 20V cars and the other is completely unrelated, but maybe someone needs it. I think it's for a VW Vanagon. The serial numbers are:

034 145 165 for the '90 20V pump
and
7681 955 103 for the suspected Vanagon pump

I have a craigslist ad with pictures here: http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/pts/3594800158.html
PM me if you're interested or if the listing goes down and you're curious about whether I have them.

I have a lubber "0" ring for center housing of ZF pump that used to my 10 valve engine, since then never leaks fluid yet? Let me know if you are interested E=3 CIS stuff.

No, I really just need a whole pump since I don't even own the correct pump for my car. Thanks anyway for the offer though.

So many conflicting stories! But you appear to be right. I'm trying to track down the source that said that. I was thinking it was 20v.org, but it's not. They correctly list the three pumps (two of which are variations of the same) used on 20V cars. Once again, thanks for the correction!

Ultra rare, you say? That would explain why my car had the entirely wrong pump on it. I assume someone felt the need to replace it at some point and simply couldn't find the correct part. How they found the one that was on it though, I'll never know.

I just sent Shokan a parts inquiry. I forgot about them until you reminded me. I hope they have something, but on the other hand, I doubt it'll be within my price range.

Some eBay parts sellers claim their pump will fit my car for $150-215 depending on which one I buy. Specifically this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/250749670646...S:1123&vxp=mtr
I sent them my VIN and they said it would fit. Do you think it could? I'm tempted to buy from them, though if someone on the forums had one to sell, I'd rather help a fellow Audi guy out. But that seems unlikely.

Tandem vane type pump

054 145 165 GX

F8A-L-100 001 through 8A-L-420 000

For whatever reason it would appear only 320 models
had this pump before they changed to another?

The # changed because something else changed, maybe mounting.

I would be leery to buy and try a pump which is not correct.

The next number is
#8G0 145 165 X which is F 8A-M-000 001 on.

At GAP

Part Number 8G0145165X
Part Name Steering Pump P/s pump W/20 valve from 8am000001 To 8al42000
MSRP $886.20
Core $125.00
Online Price $659.33

The guy on ebay, unless has the exact part number right off the pump and it matches the above mentioned you could be taking a chance.
Sending stuff back on ebay sucks if they will even refund in a case to which you simply bought the wrong part.

I only can add two things:

1., go motorgeek.com for information

2., check car-part.com for your PS pump

Shokan replied with this:

"This message is from Shokan Coachworks regarding the parts request you entered for your 1991 Audi 90 Sedan with a 2.2 5 Cylinder 20 Valve engine and Standard Quattro transmission. You may correspond with Shokan by simply replying to this message. When replying to this message please leave the subject in place. Failure to do so may cause your message to be lost.

They run $145, plus shipping in good used condition."

Now, the only thing that would worry me from their info is they list it as a 2.2L when it's a 2.3L. Seems unlikely that they'd have the wrong engine in the correct car even when I provided the VIN, but it seems weird.

I'm confused in your message though (replying to egp320i here) about the "F8A-L-100 001 through 8A-L-420 000" information you provided. What is that referring to? And how did you know it applies to my car if so few were made like that and I haven't given you the VIN yet? I'm not doubting you so much as genuinely asking how you came across this information.

Basically, should I trust that Shokan has the real correct pump, or do they have the more common version for '91s? 20v.org mentions a G and K version of the 054 pump, but no GX version. The G was for late '90 cars. Mine is a '91. Not sure what date it was made. VIN is WAUHE58AXMA023619.
