First family drive in the 20V - fun!

So the kids are on spring break, and it was a nice warm spring day here finally. So we decided to drive to a nearby city for some shopping and sightseeing and I opted to take the Audi for its first cruise with the family. Ran great, though it still idles a few hundred too high (1000) and slightly rough. But boy is that a strong engine. With 4 people and some cargo in the trunk it just starts pulling at 3000 rpm and really pulls harder as you approach redline. I shifted at 6000 through the first couple gears and its impressive.

We put over 100 miles on. I'm going to daily drive it for a few days to see what else needs sorting. Fun stuff.

now you need to get the RS2 rep injectors from 034 ;-)

I put the 034 injector kit in it a couple weeks ago. I have no idea how it performed previously, but this thing really pulls hard. I also filled it up today and found I got just a hair under 20mpg over 260 miles, which is astonishing since I have been working on it, a lot of idling, short trips around town just to make sure something I fixed now works, etc. Yesterday's trip was the first out on a highway of any note. Nice.

No, it's light gold with a spectacular mint tan leather interior. Really a well cared for example.

Nice! I don't have any pics except the day I brought it home on a trailer. I'm going today to pick up a set of 15" Audi wheels and once I get them mounted with new rubber will take some "here's my beauty" shots. Speaking of color, yesterday I painted that thin strip that goes across under the headlights. For some reason, the typical stone chipping we get here had absolutely hammered the paint off that strip and it looked terrible. I found a PERFECT match for it, and will be remounting it when I get the headlights reinstalled. Currently out while I install a set of nice ones to replace the ones I messed up with the cleaning fiasco.
