Default Hello Everyone New guy with a few questions

Hey Guys i about a year ago bought an 1993 Audi 90 B4? I got this car and i LOVE it! I have read alot online and this forum in paticular. My 12v 2.8 has 202,000 miles and shows no sign's of quitting any time soon. However, i want to be ready when it does. Because i decided to keep this car and not buy a new, or newer car i had the funds to replace or had to replace the fuel pump, starter, winshield wiper motor, heater core, and various other things. working on the fun stuff now, FK mesh grill, getting a RS2 front bumper, and interior fixes. Anyway,i have saw alot of people swap the 2.8 for a 1.8 T or VR6 ect. My question is can i replace the 2.8 with a brand new 1.8 T or another 2.8? I kmow these engines can be swapped, but do they have to be from the same era? I want this car forever so i most certainly would spend the money to do this. also saw a pair of rs4 Hartman replicas to fit this 90 on a forum for sale and i would shoot my grandmother for these rim's! lol Thanks guys, and all your help you given already and didnt know it.

I would give away all my wheels to have my grandmother....
1.8T will fit, you will need engine mounts from Europe, since the late B4 cabriolet was sold with that engine

Ha ha i have read alot of your posts crazy russian over the last year. I read this forum alot before i joined. So i can use a 4.2 twin turbo *drooling* lol or 1.8 ect even if they are from a different time period? i would like to go brand new or very close to it. Until the 2.8 dies i would LOVE some of the engine mods, throttle body, maf ect.. Unfortunatley though im learning, im not the most engine savy guy out there i will admit. Ive saw in past years that mance, vap same guy i know did alot of the mods. I havnt saw him in the 2000's doing any work anymore.. Anyone else do these now? Or could i buy these parts already modded somewhere?

The 2.7 twin turbo also works with some modification. Everything would be a fairly tight fit except for the 1.8T which had it's issues.

Those issues were resolved with the 2.0T, no idea if it works though.

1.8t has a list of problems, oil leaks, everywhere! failing timing chain tensioners, t-belt and cooling problems. ive worked at a VW dealership a few years back, so i got to c it all. 2.0t also has its problems, the fuel delivery system has bean known to have issues. you can do allot of stuff man, but it all depends on how much motivation and $$$ you got :-)
