Vacuums...
What all is operated by vacuum in the 2.3l? My 90Q will die (the engine) if I pull the oil dip stick or open the oil fill cap. And where is a good place to find parts and hoses with at least better than 50% of not being looked at with a "what the hell are you talking about" face?

Depends, some specialty hoses are dealer only, all other vacuum line hoses [I want to say 7mm diameter?] can be bought in bulk [bmw] or you can go with Samco silicone hose which is great, heavy wall to replace old rotted rubber hose.
Most actuators are run by vacuum be it cruise control, change over valves, etc.
If it has a line to it then vacuum is important.
