Reverse Detected on All gear position

Reverse Detected on All gear position
Hi,
I am using Audi A6 C4 1995 2.0 Auto. I have a problem where when I put my car gear into P or D, then if i look at the back of the car, the reverse light will be switched on. If i turn my engine off, then i want to start again, it will not start. I assume that the car wont let me start the engine if it detect i am on reverse or drive gear. So this is what the gear look like.
Actual Gear | Car Detect | Status
P | R | cannot start
R | R | Cannot start
N | R | Cannot start
D/3/2/1 | D | Cannot start
So u see I cannot start my car at all. I went to the mechanic and change something to do with reverse switch. It is located near the transmission gear underneath the car but it does not solve the problem. Is there any way to start the car, or what is faulty.
Sometimes leaving the car for hours, then I can start the car. Sometimes it doesn't.
