Cylinder Numbering Question

Cylinder Numbering Question
I'm in the process of replacing the timing chain on my B7 S4, but when I installed the crankshaft locking tool it appeared as though cylinders number 2 and 8 were at TDC and there were no other notches for the tool when what I believe to be cylinder 1 is at TDC.
I was wondering if perhaps I'm looking at this wrong or if there's some other issue here. The cylinder numbering is 1234 on the passenger side with 1 closer to the front of the car and 5678 on the driver side with 5 closer to the front of the car. Is this correct?

Update
For future reference to anyone else who is doing their own engine work like this. The cylinder numbering is
Front of car passenger side | 1 2 3 4 | Back of car
Front of car driver side | 5 6 7 8 | Back of car
My confusion was created because this engine is timed off of cylinder TWO not cylinder one like most engines. When the crank lock pin (crank holding pin depending who you talk to) is installed cylinder TWO should be at TDC (Top Dead Center).
