B7 (2006) 6MT transmission whine
So recently I was out driving my s4 and the transmission started making a whining noise when under load. The sound is gear whine, almost like a muted straight cut gear noise. Distinctly, the sound seems to be related more to the speed of the vehicle than the speed of the motor.
Right now I'm working with my mechanic to try and diagnose and fix the problem, But I'm hopeful that someone here has had a similar experience or any suggestions of where to find more info. I'm hoping that I don't need extensive transmission repairs on a car with 70,000 miles on it.

It's making noise from second through sixth. I'm unable to hear the noise in first. I haven't checked there, however the noise seems to be further back than that. In case you're interested here's a short video that has some of the noise. http://youtu.be/VPlXBu5GNkA
