Ordering
But I called a dealer today and they said they're not building the MK2 anymore and the MK3 hasn't started production yet?
I read online though that they started the German version in the Hungary factory in August last year, so why is it so difficult to get information about ordering now? Am I really in an awkward period where you just can't buy a TT?
I was thinking perhaps with ED it might have less timing issues than waiting for dealer stock here too (but mainly I need to go to europe in May regardless so I'm just trying to make it all fit)..
On a side note- anyone switched between a Z4 and TT before? I'm not sure I'm ready to give up AWD in exchange for a hard-top convertible quite yet
Wish I could have both those features in one car!

Wish I could have both those features in one car!The Mk 3 is being sold in Europe. Audi typically has a one year delay between Europe and US sales due to mods for US requirements and US-required certifications and testing. The Mk3 will be available for sale in the US as a 2016 no earlier than this summer. Since US dealers can not yet place orders, you have no hope of picking up a US spec car in Germany in May. You can buy a European spec but I don't know what difficulties you will encounter importing it. Configurators exist on the Audi DE and UK web sites. The biggest problem is that European prices are much higher than US prices, even after considering VAT.
Regarding the Z4, I never seriously considered it because the trunk space with the top down will barely hold a couple of 6 packs. This is true for all hard top convertibles. (Lexus is the worst) I take my roadsters on week long trips and need a decent trunk when top-down traveling. The Mk 2 TT roadster trunk is larger than the Mk 1 225 trunk and smaller than the Mk 1 180 trunk. The Mk3 roadster will have about 1 cubic foot more trunk than the Mk 2.
