S4 Avant or S6 Avant?

S4 Avant or S6 Avant?
I find myself in a quandary, after almost buying an 04' B6 S4 Avant with around 88,000 miles and having the seller flakeout, I finally found an 03' C5 S6 Avant with 50,000 miles, I have a deposit down and all I have to do is pick-it up.
The thing is it turned out the the S4 is available again, but now I know so much more about the timing chain/tensioner issues that I am a little scared...
I want this car to be my daily, I have a project in the garage: 94 Corrado...
Help? Which one is a more sensible choice? I know they are all projects, and I probably know the answer that I will get, but nevertheless I would like the opinion of you guys that own these babies and know best!
