Hi guys, I'm new here so may as well introduce myself. I'm Mike from Australia and I recently bought an '93 Audi 100 2.8l Quattro for $400 (rather impulsively) knowing it had some problems but wanting something to work on. Little did I know only around 500 c4 audis were sold in Aus so getting second hand parts is basically impossible. The cars transmission has something I've seen on this forum before where it changes late from 1st - 2nd (auto) gears then when it goes into 3rd all lights light up on the dash as if every gear is selected and the car stalls when coming to a stop. The other really annoying problem is a fuel leak that I didn't know about when buying the car and I noticed while driving from the smell. I found that it was the fuel pressure regulator which is pretty expensive for a small part, the gasket alone being $30 online. This scared me into believing even if I got all of this fixed that heaps of problems like this would arise. I was thinking maybe to do a ls1 swap seeing as those engines are common and not too expensive here in Australia however I don't know if it would be possible and if so very hard. I was also thinking of perhaps saving some money and buying a good audi engine and putting it in like a 2.7tt or a v8 however this too would probably be very hard and expensive, I have even tried to find my same 2.8l 12v engine for sale but have had no luck. Any suggestions or help as on what to do with this car would be welcome. I really want to make something of it, thanks!

 

sorry just realized I read the price wrong the FPR gasket is only $3 haha the FPR itself however is $70 (shipping not included). Also the engine has 260 xxx k's
