Would anyone be interested in a heated windshield for their B6/B7 S4?
Found this company in England (Rick Evans Motorsport) that makes heated windshields for all types of cars, mainly for race cars but these windshields are also legal for street use (with the proper DOT markings in the UK, the USA and Canada). I want to take all my heating equipment (heater core, fan and all that goes with it) out of my A4 track car (for weight) and would most likely buy 2 windshields but because they do not have any in stock and would require a "minimum order" of 5 units, I'm trying to get a feel to see if anyone would be interested in having one. They tell me even in -20F weather it will clear the windshield in about 5 minutes and keep it clear.
Some info/specs on the windshield…
- Dual circuit, meaning a left and right side.
- Each circuit needs/draws about 16-17 amps so a 40 amps fuse/circuit with a switch is required.
- The windshield can be tinted anyway you want (to be confirmed if special order).
- Rain sensor can be added (keep the one off your old windshield).
- Price for a minimum 5 unit order is 230 UK pounds each (shipping and all taxes not included).
As of April 27th 2015 the rate for a UK pound is as follows… 230 UK pounds = $423 CAD or $348 USD.
If you have any other specific questions on this product, I can relay it to them to get a proper answer.
