Default Is this a good deal?

I've got an offer from a dealer for a new 2016 A7 Prestige. It lists for $77,710. They are offering it to me for $73,000 out the door. That is (according to my admittedly poor math skills) a discount of about 6% off MSRP. They are also giving me what I consider to be a fair value on my trade. I am inclined to push for another $2k off, since part of their discount includes the Audi loyalty discount.

Thoughts?

If it is truly "out the door" then it also includes sales tax and all fees so it is greater than a 6% discount

Like I said, it is around 6%. Is it a good deal?

If it includes all taxes and fees, then I'd say 73K is a good deal. If it is 73K plus sales tax and fees, then you can do better

Well I ended up with a discount of 7.25%, which seems pretty good according to the research I've done.

6% is low IMO. I got 9% off MSRP for a 2016 A7 Prestige + Cold weather. MSRP - $72,375. Selling price $65,861 + TTL = $72,274.

This is in Bay Area and a couple of dealers in SoCal also agreed to the same deal.

I don't think you read the thread. I also am unclear what you mean. Does $65,861 include TTL? What is $72,274.

I ended up at 8% discount OTD. I'm now negotiating financing.

His post is pretty clear that the $65,861 is 9% off before TTL and the $72,274 is after TTL.

In terms of financing your purchase, you shouldn't be looking at anything above 1.99%, dependent on loan term and your credit score. The dealer's FI guy is probably going to be able to find better rates than anything you might find published on bank websites, if you push him a bit - for instance, I bought my A6 and my wife's ML from the same dealer group (part of Penske) and the dealers' FI guys were able to get me 1.39% for 48 months on mine (this was in Aug. 2013, through Wells Fargo) and 1.49% for 60 months on my wife's (in May 2014, through DCU).

Are these quotes of discounts higher than 6% including any loyalty discounts? They shouldn't be included in the discount calculation as Audi foots the bill. Audi Dealer invoice cost is 7% off list without freight plus full freight added back in. I wonder how these dealers offering more than that can stay in business.

Because Audi USA now has holdbacks and quarterly dealer money just like Ford and Chevy. Invoice ain't cost.
