Is Apple Carplay (and google for that matter) coming to the 2016 Audi A7 soon?

Is Apple Carplay (and google for that matter) coming to the 2016 Audi A7 soon?
Has anyone heard, from a news feed or Dealership, if Apple Carplay or Google's smartphone connection software is coming as an update to the 2016 A7 MMI software? I was slightly disappointed to find out that when I took ownership of my new A7 a month ago that they still had not upgraded to these offerings, especially since it was just announced that most new VW's will include it. My sales manager didnt have a clue if and when it would happen. It is nice to have the Siri function baked into the voice command button on the steering wheel with the "long depress" of the button currently, but it would be nicer to have a clearer user interface on the MMI screen to get the rest of the phone's essential functions. Assuming it is available for the 2017+ as they're released, there's no reason why it shouldn't be available for the 2016 since they all have the MIB-II hardware. It's the same as for the 2012-2015 6/7 cars which received a few new features over time with MMI updates.
I can say that there are a few bits you can flip with VCDS for CarPlay and Android Auto but neither actually do anything when you enable them.
