Boot and mpg issues? Help.

You can adjust the rear hatch to what ever height you want. There is a button to close it on the hatch. I suppose it would have made sense to put a couple of "Close" buttons inside.
Miles per gallon have been reported to be around 20 mpg and some are seeing near 30 mpg on the highway. It depends on where and how you drive.

2. If mpg is a concern, go for the TDI. It gets 30% better mileage than the TFSI.
