Default A7 Owners need advice

Hi guys,
New here and I am looking at an 2012 A7 3.0T Premium Prestige w/Supercharged badging and 26k miles. It was sold by owner to a non Audi dealership.
Please drop in your comments if you have a moment. I test drove it runs great however I do hear a knock sound in the engine, is that normal for the V6? Also when sitting inside at idle there is a noticeable soft vibration/shake you can feel. I expected more engine isolation from Audi but not sure if this normal. Is there anything maintenance wise I should be concerned with from this model year? Repair that should be inspected? Any feedback at all would be great. Lastly the factory warranty is probably going to expire by next year if my math is right, the Nissan dealer that is selling it said that I can purchase extended warranty coverage through Allstate. Anyone have any experience with that? Should I buy it and or is there any way to get an extended Audi warranty even though I'm buying it from a non Audi dealer?
Thank you all in advance

Make sure the fuel rail leakage issue recall has been done!

The issues you describe are not normal. Before you commit, you should take it to an Audi service center to get it checked out - the cost for a complete appraisal would be worthwhile and if the OEM warranty is still valid, repairs should be covered. - these cars are not inexpensive to repair. Even with the low miles on the car, a third party extended warranty could be very expensive for a 4 year old MY2012. Worth checking with Fidelity to see what the cost would be.

Note: If the car was originally purchased in the fall of 2011, the 4yr/50K manf. warranty could be about up. An Audi service dept. can look it up by VIN as well as the service record. (First U.S. sales for the MY2016 A6 were in June of 2011 and could have been made as late as approx. October of 2012 as a new car closeout).

Not normal - I would get that checked out before purchase.

I wouldn't buy unless an Audi dealer checks it out. Plenty of CPO A7s on the market now and no sense in risking it on this car

I just bought a 2012 and my car has none of the issues you mentioned. Go for a cpo A7 from Audi.

Sounds like one of the motor mounts is leaking.

I'm curious...First, I didn't realize that motor mounts leaked and second, what has that got to do with a rough idle and engine knocking?

They are hydraulic motor mounts, so yes they can leak and if they start leaking they will transfer the idle vibration to the inside of the cabin (the OP said soft vibration/shake and not rough idle), also you will have a knock/clunk in the engine when shifting between D and R or when accelerating as the engine is not supported 100%.

I bought a non cpo 2012 A7 prestige innovation package but no driver assist lane following. The non audi dealer took it to Audi for the Fuel Rail Recall fix. All else was fine, the car was a target executive lease car. Must be nice to work for Target. In your case I would not entertain buying a car with a knock and right idle. The seller should have that fixed. If you take the car to Audi and the guarantee they will fix it then maybe low ball the selling dealer. I got an Audi Care Extended warranty from a dealer in MA. Was not cheap but 100 K miles on top of current miles and 72 mo $250 deduct. Can provide contact info and details if you like
