Recall ahead for '12 & '13 A6's and A7's

Recall ahead for '12 & '13 A6's and A7's
Anyone who has the heated/ventilated seats will receive a recall notice in February. Apparently, the problem stems from the wiring and sensor in the driver's seat cushion failing and causing the potential for the driver's side airbag NOT deploying.

I believe that it's for the Prestige passenger seat which has heating and cooling. Symptoms are the "Passenger Air Bag Off" light being on when someone is in the seat. My 2012 A7 does it.
REMEDY
Install a PODS (Passenger Occupant Detection System) repair kit.

I could have sworn I have also seen some unusual "Passenger Air Bag Off" at unexpected times where it seemed odd, but didn't really catch on as to what this was just then.
Doesn't surprize me but neither scares me. Our cars are uber complicated and my respects to the engineers who have to coordinate all these different technologies to talk to each other. Sometimes I think machines talk to each other better than people do.
Glad there's a mindful attempt to get this corrected.

Yup. Got it around Thanksgiving. 2012 A7 - appliance white/nougat/ash 20" Sports suspension, Heads up display, Active cruise, 6 CD player in the glove box and a ashtray. It came with two Audi Care visits. We used one immediately and the last one comes due in March. 18,000 carefully driven miles by a female dentist in Yonkers NY. Put 2,000 miles on it in the first month.

You forgot to mention Black Optics you goober!.... Awesome! Congrats! That's a great looking car. I tease A7 owners because of the straight sloped rear end with no upward sloping curves toward tail (personal preference)... but hell it's still a great looking car and I love the front end on it. I'm really just jealous of the motorized wing

Ahem... so back on topic... yes I'll check with dealer this weekend about my ventilated/heated seats, and check wiring diagrams. I'll post if I find more info.
