A7 mmi update problems
hi. Just joined the forum and on my first Audi which is a 2013 A7 s-line.
I had problems with my mmi which was constantly freezing, shutting itself down and took it in to a dealer under warranty.
They told me they replaced the mmi unit and that all is well.
Everything works and I clearly have a newer system as maps are better both on the screen and dash board(or maybe just a maps update)but when I have the sound on for the navigator it delays a lot as in starts a sentence, slows down, pauses and generally tells me to turn long after as well as generally being slower when inputting navy addresses.
Could it be I have a newer model mmi in an older car which slows things down and has anyone experienced this?.

The voice system gets the data from the map, looks up the corresponding voice bits and puts it through the audio system. If there is a delay, that means the computer is "working overtime" doing some tasks besides the voice generation and those tasks take priority, therefore delaying the voice generation.
Take it back to the dealer, it is likely some programming/configuration error that could be corrected.
