Default Audi TT 225 Quattro 2001

Hello, I'm new to the forums and don't know how things roll here. But I have a Audi TT Quattro 2001 225 and the front left has a creaking noise when driving. Is it the strut? Spring or something that just needs greasing? I can't really find where it's coming from. Thanks.

And it happens a lot when it's hot outside.

Standard automotive troubleshooting techniques apply. Everything else is just a guess. Especially because we are not there with the car. That's why shops charge for "diagnostics".

The bushings on most VW & Audi vehicles have a finite life. You will need a press to R & R most of them. Some require replacement of control arms etc. You can try spray white/Teflon lube to troubleshoot (as mentioned earlier) but is a very temporary fix used to isolate one bad bushing. Only lube one, drive and listen. Then lube another etc until you find the bad one.

Yeah, most likely the bushing you see when you open the hood. Very common problem. You don't say the mileage on the car. but I replaced the bushings under warranty on both my Mk 1s.

Sway bar bushings. Replace, lube is very temporary fix. I think Neuspeed has them and they have a groove for the lube

or you could try here

Audi TT Stuff: Polyurethane Bushings. I think stock are the 19mm. Check though.

I just bought the same year and model and mine also creaked. Sway bar bushing, or more specifically, the plastic sleeve between the bar and the bushing. Get new poly bushings, remove the plastic sleeve and the noise will be gone. Now I have to replace the sway bar link to get rid of the clunking noise.
