Turbo Flutter? Stage 2 Tune

Turbo Flutter? Stage 2 Tune
Hi all,
Just bought my very first 2000 Audi TT Quattro, I have noticed that when I release the throttle or shift, I hear a "flutter" sound coming from the engine bay. I did some research, and discovered that the problem could be a faulty DV. (the car has the stock oem one) However, the car also has a Stage 2 Unitronic Stage 2 Tune, as well as a huge cone filter and I wasn't sure if the sound could be coming from the filter??

With Stage 2, the diverter valve is supposed to be changed as a mandatory upgrade. If not, it can come apart without warning leaving you stranded.
All of that said, by flutter sound, do you mean a whirling sound? That could be normal turbo spool up noise from the non-stock air filter. But don't confuse it with a turbocharger that the bearings are failing on.
