How do I remove this connector?

How do I remove this connector?
I was trying to remove my vacuum reservoir tank (8n0131541) to remove my alternator. While attempting to remove the line that connects to that tank, I snapped the male plastic piece from the tank off, and it remains in the connector. I haven't seen this connector yet, and have no idea how to remove it to get the plastic piece out, so I can reattach it to the replacement tank that is on the way. Anyone have any ideas?
For reference, since images are apparently hard, this sits on the front passenger side under the hood, in front of the power steering reservoir, and the evap valve plugs into the top. The line runs from the lower rear part of the tank, back under the coolant expansion tank.
