Hissing stops when brake pedal is pressed
2003 TT convertible auto with 1.8 turbo
I've got a hissing noise when I start and run the TT. It sounds like it is coming from the brake pedal. I've crawled down to the brake pedal and listened and felt everywhere and can't seem to locate the source. I can't hear any hissing in the engine compartment. If I press on the brake the hissing goes away. Also, I haven't noticed a difference in braking so I'm stumped as to whether it's the brake booster or not.
Any thoughts or suggestions about how to find the source or whether it really is the booster?
