Only the transmission part number than came out of it is the type that will fit. Save money and use your original transfer case.

The transmission can be disassembled and internal parts replaced. Pretty bullet proof except for the brass shift fork. Many tuning shops sell a better one. Gears can get ground up from bad driving maneuvers but can be replaced. Best scenario is repair your transmission.

Thank you. Is that the shifting fork the main culprit most of the time? Course I guess if it comes loose it could start chewing gears up. Don't really know anything about these cars is $2,000 a good price? Worse case another 1000 to 1500 on tranny.

The guy said you can shift into gear but it won't move. I was hoping might be slave cylinder but don't sound like it. I don't think he changed slave when he replaced clutch.

What "won't move"? Not understanding this statement. Can you put car into gear 1, Start with clutch pedal pressed and then drive off, locked in 1st gear? If so, can you repeat in 2nd and maybe 3rd gears?

The car won't move at all. He thought it was clutch and had somebody put a new one in. It will still go in every gear but won't move reverse either

Not the shift fork. Jack car up on all fours place in gear. Try 3rd as it sounds more scientific. Start car. Do any wheels rotate? If so, your transfer case may be bad. Trans out, replace transfer case. The Haldex clutch assembly in back no doubt needs its' magic goop cha ged along with the filter. Buy the filter tool, goop and filter.

If no wheels rotated, Major gear damage, synchros frozen or a rare main shaft snapped in pieces are limely. Remove transmission and inspect. Repair as required.

Clutch Slave cylinder is part of the throw out bearing assembly. I'm sure it was replaced if the clutch was.
