Default value of heavily repaired TT

Hi - I have a 2001 Audi TT Quattro, 225 hp, 6-speed manual roadster. I bought it for $7,400, and I have spent almost $7,000 in repairs on it since I bought it in 2015 (most of those repairs have been over the last four months). It has new spark plugs/coils, new timing belt/water pump, new mass air flow sensor, new turbo intake tube, new rear brakes, including rotors and rear caliper, new clutch, new slave cylinder, and new front axles. All I know of that it needs now is new front brakes, including rotors, and an air conditioning recharge. I'm considering selling the car soon, but I'm having a hard time determining what to ask for it given that it has so many new parts. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

I wish I had good news for you but it's probably worth about $7000 if it is clean and not extremely high mileage. I kind of shopped for one recently and found several nice ones under 75000 miles for $8-10 k. It can be expensive to repair one, I've had a coupe for 13 years. Lots of track time and repairs and mods including an engine replacement. I have bought it at least twice 😐

Best he can hope for is KBB trade value in excellent condition assuming the body and interior are great. If AC needs a recharge that likely means there is a leak in the system or the compressor seals are shot - not a cheap fix - but probably would not be noticed on a trade-in inspection.

Thanks for the advice. I'm on the fence about selling it, since it already has so many new innards at this point. I have a love/hate relationship with the thing.

I'm in a similar position. I've invested WAY more in repairs on my 2002 TT than it's worth, but for me there's no question of selling... I'm doing it so I can rely on the car. Perhaps in 20 years the investment will have made sense, but for now it's all a labor of love.

A car is worth what someone is willing to pay. The issue will always be if the lender will loan above market value. I've restored a few cars and sold them above market numerous times. Used cars today are sold retail by KBB but their Dealer worth is determined by the best price in the last 30 days paid for in an auction. That's not always the rule when it's extremely nice and low mileage.
