97 A4 factory alarm

97 A4 factory alarm
My 1997 A4 like to have the alarm go off randomly when it's locked. The car has been sitting for almost 6 years and I finally brought it back to life. The alarm thing has me baffled. I've tried hitting the button on the B post...doesn't fix it. I even have the 40 amp fuse for the alarm, interior light and vanity lights pulled and the thing still goes off. Any suggestions?

This forum is more aligned for the A6-C4 cars..however lets try and hep.
Your car have the IR or radio system? I think there is a switch for the hood that can cause problems too..they get corroded..it looks like a plastic door light switch.
