RS3 Track/Autox Wheels & Tires
I wanted to create a thread to specifically discuss track/autox wheels and tires for the RS3. Hopefully, anybody racing the S3 can also give some feedback. I’m still a month or two away from getting mine, but I wanted to get a jumpstart.
I guess the first question is staggered vs square. Since every review I have read comparing the two options have made a point of mentioning how much better the staggered setup was, I’m assuming that is the way to go.
The next question would be size. 18s would allow for the R88R (255/35/18 & 235/40/18). So far, I have seen one person on FB show a picture of some 18x8.5 Volk ZE40 wheels that barely fit on the RS3. I haven’t heard of any other wheels. I’m hoping that maybe somebody can find a set of Konig, Enkei, or TSW wheels that will fit because I’m aiming for the $200 - $300 range. If 18s won’t work, then that leaves 19s and the Trofeo R (or Pilot Sport Cup 2) in 265/30/19 & 235/35/19. Unfortunately, there are no track tires in 255/30/19. So the big question is whether 265/30/19 on a 9 or 9.5 will fit on the RS3. From what I read, it won’t fit on the S3.
