Wet passenger carpets
I have a 2015 Audi A3 Quattro 2.0T Premium Edition.
Late last year, I notice that the passenger side carpets, both front and rear were routinely soaking wet when I would clean my Audi. I took it to 2 different dealers, thinking perhaps a clogged sunroof drain. Both dealers checked and said sunroof drains fine.
Alas, winter came, and living in Northern Michigan and Ontario, with months of sub freezing temps, I didn't have any problems.
Just went to clean the car again, and both front and rear carpets on passenger side soaking wet again. I read quite a few blog posts regarding older A6/A4 models, and removed that plastic piece under the hood, right up against the windshield checking for clogged drains; nothing. Also, just the bottoms of the carpets are wet; nothing on the sides or going up to the front of the car.
Any suggestions? Has needed a new AC condenser and compressor within the last year, so guessing it's not the AC concern that I had seen in some blog posts.
Anything you all have would be greatly appreciated!
A friend has a Tiguan with Pano roof. It's been in for "repair" 4 different times for water leaks. They claim to have repaired sun roof drains but the rear passenger side carpet is soaked if the vehicle is in heavy rain.
It's pretty easy to check the front sunroof drains. I get a watering can and pour water into the drains at the front edge of the sunroof. Our drains always appear OK. We have water coming thru the firewall (A6 wagon) when the car is in heavy rain. I've improved it somewhat, but not completely corrected.
I can't comprehend why VAG cars are having issues with this.
