Default A3 etron transmission question
When the A3 etron Sportback is on electric power, is it using the dual clutch transmission? I never feel any shifting on electric drive.

No the electric motor goes through a cvt. No shifting to be had.

Not so. There is only one transmission and it's the DCT. The electric motor shifts gears through there as well, plus you can manually shift the gears if you'd like. It's also a way for regenerative charging while in EV-only mode.
