Default Delivery Experiences

Here I am once again counting down the days for my delivery which is just a couple weeks out, and I find myself wondering how to best handle and address the worries of "dealer detailing" damages on the car. I have had both experiences in my time, good, and pretty awful when it comes to dealer installed scratches and coverups.

What has been everyone's experiences so far with your cars? I know it almost completely comes down to which dealer you are working with, and what their service department looks like. Have any of you opted/fought to have the car delivered untouched? I went down that road with my last purchase, and while it was nice knowing I wasn't going to have to deal with the possibility of swirled paint put there by poor detailing from the dealer, it was an expensive and lengthy process to have the car detailed professionally off the bat.

Have your cars been delivered flawless? Or typically swirly?

i have had mine for two weeks. It is a 2017 Glacier Metallic White and had been on the lot for a bit. Because I dont have a garage and for piece of mind, she is currently getting a full detail with color correction and a ceramic coating getchinq crystal serum black. It's expensive, but hopefully delivers some piece of mind that Im looking for.

Not so lucky for me. Dealer took it upon themselves to put it through there carwash. UGH!!! So swirlysyndrome for sure. Will be doing pain correction and ceramic coating shortly. Not too upset since I would have done that regardless. Iron X, Clay, Paint Correct, Polish, then Ceramic coat. Going be a long weekend.

I had my salesman put in the contract the vehicle is not to be unwrapped nor detailed upon its arrival. I even attempted to have it delivered straight to my detailer but they are required I've learned to PDI the vehicle for liability reasons. I will be taking the car directly to my detailer after the PDI for new car prep, PPF installation, ceramic coating and ceramic tint installation. Do not let the dealer detail your car. They will only install more swirls and scratches.

Just curious but what kind of car wash facilities do your respective dealers have? In my case, they always hand wash so I've been fortunate enough not to have swirls, etc.
