Default Riddle Me This, Tire Rack???

OK, I could use some help re: the tires than are coming standard on the RS3? I know with the Dynamic Package you get the Staggered Wheel Setup -- Front, 255/30R19 ET46, and the Rear, 235/35R19 ET42.

So when you go to Tirerack which even now lists the 2018 RS3 (yea), it then asks if you have Ceramic or Standard Brakes. OK, that makes sense. Then they want to know if you have METAL or RUBBER VALVES ... I'm sorry I simply don't get that question. I have NEVER seen any mention about the two different types of valves. Help / clarification please.

I also don't understand why they don't ask about the staggered setting but I guess they haven't gotten to that configuration yet.

Another wheel related question about using the BBS app. It asks what "Wheel Type"? The choices are CH-R, CI-R, LM, LM-R, RS-GT, SR, SX, or XA. I have absolutely no clue so I'd appreciate some enlightenment. Thanks guys.

By metal, I think they mean direct TPMS which you get with the Dynamic Plus package.

RS vehicles now have the option for direct TPMS (sensors in the valves) for those who often go to the track and want to monitor tire pressure and temperature. Metal stem valves have the sensors, rubber stem valves don't and use indirect TPMS which uses the ABS sensors to measure oscillations in the wheel assembly and do a spectrum analysis to monitor relative tire pressure. So which ones you have is a valid question to know whether you need sensors or not.

Ceramic or Standard Brakes matters to make sure if you order a wheel that it clears the brakes.

With the staggered setup you would order the front and rear tires separately instead of a single line item on your order.

The wheel types are the different wheel models BBS offers. You might wanna go to their website and look at them all and see which one you like best.

Tire Rack does let you choose between non-staggered and staggered for the RS3, and also provides the option for selecting different rear tire sizes. So I think they have it covered. Appreciate the clarification in other responses for metal vs rubber stems.

I saw the RS3 listed on Tire Rack.....but when I go through the menu it doesn't offer me any wheel choices saying they have nothing available. Did someone else get some options?

Me either... is OP sure he didn't select RS7? Because that's the one that has Ceramic vs Standard and Metal Stem vs Rubber Stem.

Here is what I see when I go to the TireRack website (I don't have the Dynamic Plus pkg so I selected Rubber valves based on comments above):

I am assuming this is correct, at least for my situation?

Oh they've updated. Actually if you're staggered you should pick 2018 RS3 Staggered. That will get you both the OE sizes according to TireRack which matches what you've entered manually.

Unfortunately I never saw a way to get RS3 Staggered, *except* by entering it manually. I'm hopeful that this will change in the near future.
