Just got a 2018 S3 in Florett Silver and looking at getting PPF for the front fascia, fenders and hood. I want to do the full hood. Some of the installers I have talked too have said the two sharp creases on the hood are hard to get the PPF to stick too and have suggested cutting the PPF at the bottom of the crease. In effect they are proposing to put a seam in the hood crease Anyone else hear this?

I just had the new Suntek stuff done and the hood is bubbling all around those creases so, I can confirm the film doesn't like to stick to those areas.

Full Hood? Or not?

I am facing the same question. On my TTS we did the first 1/3 of the hood. But for my soon-to-arrive TT RS, I am thinking of going Full Hood.

I think the RS3 and TT's have the same creases....

So, has anyone successfully wrapped a full A/S/RS3 or TT hood (with Suntek/3M/Xpel) with no bubbles?

I just got my 17 Florett wrapped in XPEL (full front end) and this area was a concern for my installer also. It turned out ok. He says the key is the curing process. My installer put the car under some UV lights for about 24 hours after install to speed it up. The weather up here in Seattle is super gloomy, so the lights are necessary unless you want to wait 3-4 weeks for it to fully cure naturally. I can see some bubbling on one of the creases, but my installer says that should go away within 2 weeks and to bring it back for them to fix if it doesn't.

Here is a close up pic for reference:

I had/have a similar issue. The passenger side crease on my hood had some small bubbles in it, and when I asked they said give it a month to fully cure. If not I'm to bring it back to be fixed. I'm coming up on a month, so I may I have to have mine fixed.

I had my 2018 TT-RS PPF'd with Suntek Ultra; full front end, headlights, full hood, front fenders, side mirrors, strip below doors and halfway up the rear fenders.
I have no bubbles. The number of pieces, especially for the front end/bumper, are many. It took my installer about 11 hours to do my job and it wasn't even the whole car.
Cost was $1900.
