Default Gremlins???

I have a 2001 A6 2.7t that has a lot of little yet annoying electrical problems. Wipers won’t stop, windows ont go up/down sometimes, interior lights stay on after door is closed and the A/C fan will turn itself up at random. Any suggestions? It’s like my car is possessed.

Check wiring in rubber bellows at driver door jamb. If good, probably have to replace driver door lock mechanism, but I think it's the wiring. A/C fan sounds like bad fan control module or wiring. Replace wiper mechanism.

Default Common?

Is this common with these models? Is it likely I’ll keep chasing electrical issues?

Electrical issues are not uncommon. Check Engine Lights are not uncommon.

Get a good service manual and a VCDS, and have a lot of patience and the right tools, and you will be very satisfied with this as a second car.

Yeah the check engine light is currently on for cam sensor Bank 2 and an O2 sensor. Also trying to get a good list of performance parts to start with. Unfortunately it’s my daily driver.

Door microswitch failure is common with Audi's. Door jamb wiring issues are common with all older cars. Fan control module failure is common and usually occurs when a rubber strip jams a fan. FYI this failure normally results in fan spinning ultra fast and sounding like a jet engine. I also wonder if you might need a new coolant temp sensor, if the fan goes on after the engine has stopped(easy diy, at back of engine on passenger side). Wiper problems rare but happen on old cars when resting position switch fails.

Cam position sensor on Bank 2 is at back of head so you have to move stuff out of way to get to it. Coolant reservoir and hoses get in the way. Once cleared out, cam sensor replacement is easy.

O2 sensors not a big deal and lots of diy info available. Bank 2 Sensor 1 is PITA and requires a few ratchet extensions to reach from top. Sensor 2's are easy and you can use universal replacements and splice wires to avoid fishing the harness up to bulkhead.
