Open Hose Question
Hi y'all,
I have a 1996 A6 Avant with the 2.8 and have an issue with a hose that I can't seem to find a place for. The hose is rubber - black with a green stripe and about ⅜ OD - and runs from a T along the driver's side cam cover to behind the engine where it terminates in a right-angle connector. The other hoses on the T both seem to go under the ABS pump behind the PS reservoir. I've checked and it's not pulling vacuum.
Does anyone know what this hose might be and what it might be supposed to connect to?

Sounds like cruise control, which is vacuum controlled in the 1999. It does not, however, run off engine vacuum, but off its own pump that only activates with cruise. One hose goes to the pump, one to switch on the brake pedal (inside the car) and one to the vacuum servo at the throttle body.
