Valve cover stuck

Valve cover stuck
I'm in the process of changing the valve cover gasket and all I've left is lifting up the valve cover. But it's really stuck on there. Any tips on how to get it loose so I can lift it off? I've tried hitting it with a rubber mallet but that's not working

There are a couple of bolts that attache horizontally through the front belt cover. If those are removed, try a little persuasion with a screwdriver near one of the corners. (Just make sure not to damage the aluminum...)
