99 A6 Avant, Louisville, KY $1000
Runs well, shifts well, the car tracks straight with the steering wheel centered. The timing belt was changed at about 160000 along with the water pump. All 4 tires are nearly new and recent rear brakes.
The torque converter needs to be replaced (hence, low asking price). The car has recently returned a code confirming this issue. This is the cause of a shudder during light acceleration between 25 and 40 mph. It doesn't happen during moderate to hard acceleration and does not happen outside of the stated speed range.
Cruise control is inoperative. Right rear fold down seatback latch is broken. There are some minor cosmetic issues with the exterior and interior that is nothing beyond what is to be expected in a 19 year old car. Otherwise, it is mechanically and electrically sound and it rides nicely. There are no odd scents. Other than what was already mentioned, everything works, AC, lights, wipers, etc.
