2006 A4 2.0T boost cuts/limp mode?
I bought this car car used and it has been a very good daily driver for the past few months. I wanted a little more pep so I had an APR stage 1 tune done. Other than that, there are no other engine mods to the car.
To the point:
When driving around town I notice that the boost will cut out and come back. Max is around 19ish. Then I try to accelerate to highway speeds and it will sometimes cut out and limit the boost to 5psi. Then sometimes cut down to zero boost. Then it will come back and give max boost again a few second to a minute later. This can happen below 3,000rpm as well. Not just high rpm.
What I’ve done:
New cam follower
New HPFP gasket and bolts
New fuel filter
New spark plugs
New coil packs
New thrust sensor
Codes:
P2293
P0089
I’ve done many many searches and can’t find anything about this exact issue. From what I’ve read It seems like it could be a few things.
HPFP?
Low pressure fuel pump?
Boost leak causing fuel cut?
Diverter valve?
I ordered the OBD cable so I can scan with VCDS/VAGCOM. I will be hooking it up tomorrow.
I dont know where to start really. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Daniel
