mysterious part
I bought a non-running 2007 A4 2.0T Quattro. The part pictured above was laying on top of the intake manifold under the engine cover. It was not connected anything, it was just laying there. I do not see any hoses or wires in the engine compartment that connect to it. Can anyone tell me what this part is??
Its called N80 valve Or purge valve. Its part of car's EVAP system. In Audi it's located under the throttle body. It connects two hoses and has one electric connector. One hose goes towards the engine and another one coming from fuel tank.
A bad Purge Valve will reduce gas milage and there will be hesitation in acceleration and throws black smoke from tail in worst conditions. When diagnosed with scanner it throws code for Evap leak.
Hope this helps!
