Multitronic Transmission Upshifting
Hey everybody,
I hope anybody can help me out. I'm about to buy a 2006 A4 1.8T with Multitronic Transmission, the car has only 65K Miles, with only one owner. I took the car for a ride for about 10 miles, everything works perfect. The transmission it seems to be working alright, on D it works smoothly, on S it works fine as well. But, when I move it to -/+ it does down-shift without a problem, but it will not up-shift. Neither errors or lights are coming on the dashboard. I mentioned it to the owner, but she said that she has never drove it on -/+.
I talked to my local mechanic, he says it can be a failure from the Transmission Module, but I'm afraid it can be something else like the whole transmission failing? If anyone had this issue or knows how to fix it, I'll appreciate it, since the car is currently on a great condition and I really what to buy it, but I hope this issue is not a deal breaker.
