For sale is my 2001 A6 Quattro (4.2L V8 40v engine, 300hp), fully loaded. Car has 205,000 miles, but engine and transmission are still strong. Sport and cold weather packages (heated seats, mirrors, and steering wheel; dark grey leather interior; 17” alloy wheels). I’ve owned and maintained this car for 10 years, but unfortunately I’ve fallen behind on a few repairs due to a lack of time, and have reached a point in life where it’s time to let this car go.

Background: Bought the car in CA in 2009 with 85,000 miles, moved to NY in 2013. Maintenance has been regular and meticulous, including two full timing belt services (most recent in 2017), including valve cover gaskets/seals and crank seal. All control arms replaced with 034 Motorsports versions, shock absorbers upgraded to Koni FSD (stock springs), and front CV axles rebuilt/balanced (2014). Catalytic converters replaced in 2012. Pesky oil cooler tube and variable intake manifold arms upgraded to metal versions. Regular oil/air filter changes with full synthetic, filled with premium gas only.

Issues: Tires and front brake pads and rotors need to be replaced. Front passenger coil spring recently broke and needs replacement. I would consider repairing this myself as part of the purchase agreement. Cosmetics are not great, several dings and scratches on body and bumpers. Paint on the trunk lid is completely oxidized. Most of the interior is in good shape, but the leather is split/ripped on both front seats, and leather on the steering wheel is also in bad shape. Headliner is starting to sag in the back. Most electronic features still work, including heated seats and all windows/sunroof. Exceptions are the rear window electric sunshade, and Tiptronic shift mode only senses downshifts. Driveshaft hanger bearing is worn out and causes some vibrations on acceleration sometimes (can be replaced with 034 version, $100). Currently no spare tire (claimed by a NY pothole…).
