Audi A6 FS in IL: 2002 Audi Allroad - Triptronic 76,000 mi - One owner
Just preparing to sell. Had car evaluated by Swap Motors, a Chicago based outfit who inspect and take pictures in anticipation of offering car for wholesale auction. I believe if auction prices doesn't meet predetermined reserve, then it goes on a marketplace complete w pictures, CARFAX etc. Suggested opening auction price is $1,250 so it is likely going to Marketplace where all pictures and the like will be available.
Only severe wear and tear item is a rust spot on tailgate for which I have a $500 bid to repair/repaint. Other moderate items are scratches on rear bumper covers and discolored steering wheel. Remaining items are classified as light, and which I consider normal given age and miles i.e. paint peeling over lighted instruments, curb rash on wheels, etc.
Not sure how this thread works - all posts are noted as SOLD with zero or few replies.
In any case that is where it is now. I'll update after it get's posted to the market place.

Swap Motor Operation is pretty slick. Business is basically to get more that either trade-in or CarMax if one goes to auction, but you get it sold and cash in a day, after paying a fee on a sliding scale starting at $249 and up..
The marketplace is an off shoot, where the only money they get is services, title, lien release etc. That plus $49 to come to your location for inspection and pictures.
Right now they have 7 Audi for sale and 6 recently sold.
Check it out if in Chicago and interested in buying or selling a car.
As indicated I posted the car for sale through a Chicago based start up Swapmotors.com, and even for a car with a pretty narrow following, I got three interested buyers and sold the car for $4,900 12 days after listing. At the end of the day, I was really happy where the car ended up.
The final buyer reached out to me on a Sunday morning, and despite being 2 1/2 hours away in Michigan, he drove in and we closed on the sale within 24 hours. Poor guy just got his 2001 S4 Avant totaled, and was looking for another Audi wagon. The fact that my car was fairly priced, had even fewer miles than his S4 and more room for his growing (in age) family seemed like a good fit.
His only concerns were the interior (liked his manual) and that I had gone to coilovers - he believes he can correct both if he has the $$ and interest. Best of all he knew what he was in for - he even ran a VAG test before closing, and would use it primarily for commuting 4 miles each way to his office. This seemed like a better place for the car than the other interested buyers, both of whom were concerned about ongoing maintenance costs and one who wanted to use it as a replacement for their work truck whose maintenance was becoming a concern.
The Allroad is a great car and we hated to see it go. I guess that we are just glad that it is going to a young family who can comfortably enjoy it for many years to come.
