Default Looking for more hp/torque

I just bought a brand new 2005.5 A4 2.0T, 6 spd manual with quattro, and I absolutely love it. But being a typical guy, and having something for about a month or so, I'm ready to start tinkering with it. My only concern is voiding my warranty. Does anyone know anything I can do to get more performance out of my baby without voiding the warranty? Thanks in advance for the help

Default Anything you do to it will put parts of your warranty in jeopardy.

BTW, you want the B6 or B7 A4 forums. Your model year falls into the "B7" category.

Default Some dealers will offer aftermarket options at a significant mark up...

And usually that dealer will handle any warranty claims that may arise. But the aftermarket modifications are NOT endorsed by AoA or any other dealer, so if you do have a problem where you think the warranty may become an issue, you're better off bringing it to the dealer that installed it.

One thing to note...this warranty coverage is still a gray area. While the dealer installing the part will say they will cover everything, the fact is, the dealer will bill AoA for warranty claims. If AoA finds out you blew an engine and the car was chipped, AoA will deny the claim. I can tell you right now that the dealer will NOT want to swallow the bill for a new engine, even if they were the one's that sold you the modifications. They tell you everything you want to hear while your wallet is open, but when it comes time to fix a problem, you can expect them to weasel out of it.

That said, it's exceedingly rare that a chip (for example) will cause something catastrophic, if it comes from a reputable tuner. More often it's other little bits around the engine that take a **** when you increase the hp of the engine...parts that usually aren't very expensive. The 2.0T engine is rather new, and it may take tuners a little while to catch up and put solid products on the market. But all indications at this point say the engine will hold a lot of promise in the aftermarket arena.
