Help, my brakes are doing something wierd....
Just before I come to a complete stop, right when I ease off the brake pedal a bit so I don't lurch to a halt, my anti-locks kick in. It only happens for a second, the pedal softens and vibrates, there is that characteristic humming noise, and then everything is normal again. There doesn't seem to be any specific road condition that brings it on. I don't think its any kind of a safety issue, but it sure is annoying and I'd like to fix it.
Can someone suggest what I should do to stop this from happening? Thanks! :0)

I would have the shop look into that, I had a major accident with my 5000cs...
The abs had the same symptoms as yours, and a few thousand miles down the road the drivers side brakes locked up under normal braking and I did a one wheel power slide off the road into some nasty trees. Def get is looked at for your safety.

Someone also told me the sensor could be dirty.....
If it's dirty, will the vag tell me that too? If not, how hard is it to clean the sensors? If it's easy I might just do that to see if that is the problem.
