Newbie with many quetions wheels/tires/susp/mods
Ok I just bought a 2001 a4 2.8 and was wondering what do to it. I was quite impressed with how it handles stock (it passed a modified integra up the hill and dropped a wrx down the other side). I really like how she pulls around tight corners. With that said here is what I noticed, the car felt loose overall if I did not have the foot to the floor board, the rear end gave a lot in the turns (stiffer sway bar?) I bottomed out the suspension on a uphill undulation. I was wondering what people would recommend for wheels/tires (17in or 18in, 225 or 235, 45 or 40) and suspension (lower or no lower and who/what thinking of eibach pro). I live where the roads donâ€<sup>TM</sup>t always have nice pavement and are often very tight (like switchback tight).

Oh, I heard that a K&N filter should be avoided? What other performance do people recommend that wont kill my car like a supper charger? Remember it is a 2.8 NOT the 1.8T.

a super charger won't kill your 2.8 actually it would put it up 290hp.
i'd suggest you try searching before asking so many questions.
here's my suggestion:
h&r coilovers or some sort of sport/race spring and shock setup.
10 HP chip
short shifter if it's a 5 speed
swaybar in front and rear will help your car hold turns better, i think neuspeed sells ones for this car.
17 in. or 18 in. wheels won't make a difference, if you say your roads suck i wouldn't go above 17 inch though as you will be replacing wheels like underwear.

wheels made a world of difference for me.
i was set upw tih neuspeed race and bilstein shocks with stock wheels and cheap but still had a ton of tread. with the new wheels and better tires i have to try and get my car to understeer and slide, also decreased a little body roll too.
