Default IDIOT- hit a curb, ripped the front lip and belly pan off... is this bad?

Is it bad to run the car without the stock bellypan covering the undercarriage? I had a little bit of an issue because the front of the wheel well liners had no bottom support and started rubbing against the tires... fixed that no problem. Luckily the front lip came off in one piece.. need to investigate further to see if I can put it back on. The belly pan though, came off in pieces... left that thing in the parking lot. I have nobody to be pissed at except myself... Is it bad to leave this off for a few months till I'm back at home at MY shop? Its just more of a reason to buy a Rieger!!!

Default It can be bad, I ran over a stick (didn't even see it) that then tore my vac lines/belts

This was when I had no belly pan... I would get it fixed. It won't really hurt anything just driving it around... but think about the "what if" a big stick/box/2x4/raccoon/etc etc is in the road....

Default Not a problem...

The 90 is very similar to the A4.... and I know quite a few 90 owners who never even got a belly pan with the car. My family's Audi mechanic (yes they all drive Audis) who quit Audi and started his own indie Audi-only shop says they are a waste of time. The only thing you will notice is all your leaks will make more noticible spots in the driveway and the engine compartment will get dirty faster. Because the Bentley refers to this part as sound insulation, you may find a small amount of extra noise in the cabin on the car.

Default incorrect

on the b5 a4, this pan is proven to help in cooling the engine bay, essential on a turbo car.

I agree...they move air through the engine bay and out to cool it.

Fender liners don't even come close to the tires without support...something else is wrong.
