Yeah, I know, it's been a long, long time, since posting last. I am still alive, even at 54 years of age. Took awhile, just to figure out my sign on information. Yes, I still have Bullwinkle, my 99.5, 1.8t. To this day, there is still, not a scratch, on my car. I now have a blistering 33,000 miles, on my car. To date, the only out of the ordinary repair, was some kind of rear end seal, that needed replacing. Other than that, my car has lived an error free life.
I had Palisades Audi complete the timing belt and front end inspections. Everything looked fine. Had them change the oil/filter, rotate the tires .. I'm good to go. Time flies by .. It seems like yesterday, that I was picking up my new car, from Bernardsville Audi. But, now it's time to change my exhaust. Since 1999, I've had the Supersprint Magnum (90MM tips)rear exhaust installed. The Supersprint exhaust had just the right amount of exhaust note, without any droning. Perfect for me. Not intrusive, at all. I like the the look, of the 90MM tips.
So, I need some suggestions. I'm looking for an exhaust, that's basically the same, as the Supersprint. I'm not interested, in doing an entire exhaust system. But, I'm really open, to any suggestions. I'd rather walk into a shop, purchase the exhaust and have the vendor complete the installation. In years past, I've used AWE, for alot of my mods. I live in the Rockland County area and don't mind taking an extended trip, for quality service.
So, does anyone have any exhaust/vendor recommendations?? Thanks ..

i think he meant timing belt inspection, not TB replacement, yeah?

 

Thats how I read it at first. Seems to be just inspection.

As for exhaust, you might be able to order just the Borla muffler directly from AWE.

I'd recommend KMD tuning in Westwood (IIRC) for install which shouldn't be too far from Rockland County. Maybe they can order it or even offer a comparable one as well.

 

How've you been? I suspect most of the folks here will no longer remember you. It's been a LONG time since you've posted...and post of the old timers have fallen out of the tree, so to speak.

Why are you looking for a new exhaust? The supersprint certainly has a distinctive tone, and it's one of my favorites on an A4. I don't think I would sell it for anything else on the market, unless you needed a larger downpipe (turbo upgrades and the like). Are you shopping for a big turbo kit and keeping a secret from us?

 

It is an age/mileage based interval. Belts etc. can wear with time.

 

Nice hearing from you. You're right .. I don't recognize alot of people. I'm sure some of the "elders", have probably purchased 2 new Audi's, since I last posted. You still in Penn.?? I've got a hole (due to corrosion), in the muffler section. It's right by, one of the welded sections. Whether the hole was caused by a defect, I really can't tell. Nevertheless, I've got to change the exhaust. I can't remember where I purchased the Supersprint exhaust, but, I know Bellavia installed it. You have any good suggestions?? Would I be able to have another exhaust "popped" right on?? Or, should I just go for an entire exhaust. Bullwinkle will be with us, for a long, long time. Just browsing through Palisades Audi .. 45G's, for a 3.2. Yikes!!!
