I almost died!!
I've already ordered AO snow tires. but i'm curious why this would happen...
i think my 'lane assist' feature was ON, and may have tried to 'assist' my driving?? did anyone here have an issue like this?? do you think the lane assist feature can invite unnecessary corrections??
I've driven at least 8 cars thus far, and never had this issues, and none of my cars/suvs had snow tires in the past.
what else other than snow tires will help?? alignment? enabling 'off road' mode??
any thoughts apart from the obvious "stay home", will be much appreciated!
However, in my experience All Seasons are only all season for the first season, if they are not brand new tires within this last year they are just 3 seasons.. they all burn the snow ratings PDQ even if they have "reasonable" tread left they are no longer snow rated unless basically brand spanking new.. the choices for good tires in 20in size are pretty ****, while you may not have had issues in past vehicles were they also on low profile rubber bands with so few choices of shoes to install?
The fact you spun out twice, at varying speeds.. strongly indicates to me your tires were ****, dont buy that brand again.. consider getting a smaller set of wheels for winter use, like 18s have 10x the selection of tires to run and they are significantly cheaper.
In my mind, if the tire shop was crooked then they would have told you to replace the tires in hopes of selling a new set. So there is a good chance that the tires are still good.
