Default Q7 4L - Reverse LED Bulb Warning VCDS Coding

Has anyone ever used VCDS or OBDeleven to code out the bulb out warning when retrofitting LED's for their reverse bulbs? I've seen this be done for the B8 A4, but the same method does not appear to be the same for the Q7.

Doesn’t work with the Q7. You have to have resistor’ed canbus bulbs. The deauto bulbs for the Q7 work, I would stay away from their other bulbs (overpriced).

I've found that if things seem dim out back via camera monitor, I just need to punch up the console/display brightness level a bit (the level control is just to the left of MMI screen), which boosts the brightness of the MMI display so I can see better.

I also tried some less expensive Auxito LED in the backup bulbs to boost their output a bit; no dice...needs resistors to function.

Can confirm: throw JDMastar and ALLA "Error Free" LEDs in the same bucket as your Auxito bulbs.. I can't push myself to buy $100 deautokey bulbs, let alone for the reverse lights..

Yeah, I bought two sets of their reverse LEDs during a sale event; installed one set and noted the design is incorrect for the tiny lens opening it has...it needs a ' bubble-lensed' / projector type LED firing straight out the rear to be effective at light dispersion via that tiny aperture. Sure, the current iteration is still brighter than the incandescent bulbs were, and that's a good thing, now they just need to use a projector type design to make it worth the squeeze, yup.

Purchased some Auxito LED's with built-in resistors for the reverse lights and they seem to be brighter vs the OEM halogens and error-free thus far.
Currently $17 after coupon
Amazon Amazon
None of the LED's fire out of the end -- that area is occupied by a fan. But they're very bright and an improvement vs the originals.
(UPDATED EDIT: After initial test yielded no errors, a longer drive caused errors on both bulbs -- they are not compatible)

Nice to hear Auxito finally introduced a Canbus bulb that works in those tiny enclosures, and at an reasonable price. Hopefully they will hold up....you be sure to tell us if/when they have issues.

Don't know how much the cooling fans in them will help in this particular location, as there is zero room/zero air turnover in those bumper lamp housings, etc. It'll probably come down to whether they are made with real metal heat-sink or simply plastic that is plated to look like metal, which is what the ones I bought were...just plastic and fiberboard. For $18 I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess those are plated plastic rather than a metal housing.

The product listing states they are built with an "aircraft aluminum body" for better heat dissipation. They felt pretty sturdy while wiggling them into the sockets but who knows for sure? I don't spend a lot of time driving in reverse will report back if they fail!

I'd be curious if you put it in reverse and sit there for a minute or two (as if you were slowly backing up a trailer), if they don't alert fault. Mine do.

I've only evaluated them while working in the garage for likely well under a minute on two occasions. Next time I'm out for a spin, I'll back-up and/or sit for a few mins in reverse and report back.
