Audi Q7
Hi, I have a 2016 audi Q7 S Line. It has stared to a humming noise seemingly coming from the engine when turned on. This noise doesn't seem to increase or decrease with speed or acceleration and in fact stays on briefly after the car is turned off. I have now warning lights or performance related issues. At a loss as to what's causing it. Any help would be appreciated

...in my case, it was my aftermarket, LED, fan-cooled foglight bulbs, which the car lights up for a set time as parking lamps when I turn off the car. As your newer model was a clean-sheet redesign, go check in with the dedicated forum for your year model Q7, if the noise still seems abnormal to you.Good luck!

Those newer, 4M chassis, Q7 MARK II cars all have the stop/start, mild hybrid system incorporated, and that's likely what you are noticing, if I had to venture a guess. Audi also has multiple coolant pumps, fuel pumps and other electrical gizmos you could be hearing, some of which remain active and running post-shutdown. Radiator fans are also fairly quiet and can remain on past engine shut-down.
