Default 2014 TDI Tires and Wheels?

I am looking at putting on a set of 18 inch factory wheels, I have 20’s now. I was going to go after market but Dreadlocks posts kind of swayed me on that. Now for the tires, I am looking at the Falken wild peak A/T Trail. Any feedback on how they are doing Dreadlocks? I think you mentioned before you are getting them or got them. And just the stock size would be best? 255-55-18? just looking for thoughts and opinions, maybe I missed some thing and there is a better way to go.
Thanks

I had some on my old Q7 that was just totaled in 20". They were fantastic, not any louder than my Pirelli Scorpion's in 21" and handling in the dry was almost as good as the Scorpions too. In the snow they were great, got me up and down a nasty little hill that beat me in previous winters.
Looking to get another set of them once I get my insurance check.
I think the Wildpeak A/T 3W is better ratted in the snow than the A/T trail, but I have nothing bad to say about the A/T trails I had.

So stick with 20" wheels and go with Wild Peak 265/50R20 will work ok? Here is a Wildpeak A/T Trail chart from the Falken site.

What size tire w/those 20" wheels? Any clearance/rubbing or speedometer issues?

They were 265/50/20, and rubbed a bit at full lock and in reverse, nothing going forward. I think it was due to the shape of the lugs grabbing at the little air dam in font of the wheel.
I lowered that car 20mm though, that probably didn't help either. I didn't notice anything off on the speedo, according to THIS it was 3 mph over displayed at highway speed.

Originally I was looking for 18"s as there are a lot more tire options, but these wheels popped up on craigslist for a good deal. Now that I'm looking to do it all over again I'm gonna look for 18 again, we will see where I end up

Love the wheels. I have a refinished set from a V8 that I'm going to be throwing on for the summer - just need some summer tires in 21" - which is turning into a wallet busting operation.

Are you in the PNW?
My new Glacier White Q7 came with brand new Yokohama Advan Sport v105 that I don't need.
Since it's been under 40° since I got the car I took them off and put on my Pirelli all seasons from my old Q7.

Unfortunately I'm exactly across the country from you, in NYC.

I'm ordering a set of the 265/50R20 now. Will maybe get some 18's down the road too. But the Wildpeak T/A Trails in 20" will work well I think.
